Head of Gynecology and Obstetrics Department Assoc. Dr. Mert Göl and Head of General Surgery Department Assoc. Dr. Ünal Aydın and General Surgery Specialist Assist. Assoc. Dr. Providing information about the surgery performed by Türker Karabuğa, Assoc. Dr. Göl said, “We performed the surgery with the laparoscopic method, thanks to a special system called a trocar, which we entered only through the belly button.
The method, also known as the SILS method, is applied in different surgical branches, but the simultaneous application of two different operations with the SILS method is very rare in the world. Previously, with this method, we took both the uterus and kidney of another patient at the same time,’ he said.

Assoc. Dr. Mert Göl continued: ‘Both the patient’s uterus and gall bladder had to be removed. It was risky for the patient to have two operations or open surgery at different times due to the patient’s overweight.’

Stating that the operation time lasted about two hours, Assoc. Dr. Mert Göl stated that the patient was discharged the next day in good health.
